Eco-friendly environment is the one which helps in promoting
green living that provides assistance in conservation
of energy and prevent air, water, and noise pollution. In simpler terms, it is called earth-friendly or not harmful
to the environment. There are many ways to create
such an environment which include: 1) Buying recycled products 2) intake
of locally grown veggies 3) carpooling 4) Begin composting 5) Following 3R principle. Majorly,
Plantation is one of them and it has
huge importance in building a healthy
environment.
Planting is
an act of inserting
a seed into ground and then letting
it grow under optimal conditions. Plantation helps majorly to the environment as it reduces the
pollution and other toxic gases in the
atmosphere. Our water cycle and oxygen supply would be interrupted without
plants since they increase oxygen levels and lower
carbon dioxide levels.
There are
various other methods of plantation other
than using seed to turn it into seedling which
of them are Cutting, Layering, Division, Grafting, Budding
& tissue culture.
Cutting method is implemented by segregating vegetative part of the parent plant (leaf, stem, and root) and replanting it to get a whole
new plant. Fig 1. In layering
technique an extended branch of
a parent plant which is covered under the soil
but has roots, it can be cut and potted separately to grow into a plant. Fig 2. Division
method entails digging
up the plant, dividing it, and transplanting it to a spot that has
already been prepared. Fig 3. Grafting
technique is removing
a twig from one plant
and attaching it to the stem of another plant so that they come
together as a single plant. Fig 4.
Tissue culture is the most advanced
method in which tissues are grown in media
under controlled conditions.

Process of seed planting:
Firstly, it is mandatory
to choose an ideal place to start plantation.
Then, preparing a soil is next step in
which you need to add mixture of fertilizer
and some organic matter.
The
rule of thumb to sow a seed is to plant at
a depth equal to three
times the seed diameter.
After planting, gentle water spray is required and make sure the spray doesn’t dislocate the seed. It is vital to provide all conditions which helps the plant to grow and nourish.
Importance of Plants: Plants and trees are beneficial to our overall health in addition to the environment. Access to woodlands has been linked to improved physical and mental health as well as a higher quality of life, according to research. Studies have also shown that exercising in these green areas helps lower stress and anxiety and boost mood. Plants have always been a common source of medicaments, either in the form of traditional preparations or as pure active principles. It is thus reasonable for decision-makers to identify locally available plants.
Our
personal health and wellness depend on access to clean air, water, plants, and
food supply. Mankind and the environment are interdependent, with each having
an influence on the other.
As a result, just as our
decisions and actions have an impact on the environment, they too have an impact on our personal health
and welfare, as well as the health of our families
& communities.
